Traditionally we’ve gone to Giordano’s for pizza when we’re in the windy city. The problem: the small is huge so you can’t go for lunch (it’s too big) and there are so many good dinner spots we don’t want to miss out on.
This year we tried, on the recommendation of the doorman at our hotel, Ginos East. We sat at the bar and split a small (4 slice) chess and spinach deep dish. The filling was good and the crust was very different than Giordano’s. I won’t say better or worse, just different.
Since you have to have deep dish pizza at least once in Chicago give Ginos a try. It’s worth the visit.
