Butcher and the Rye

We met Mary & Ken one evening for a late dinner.  We ended up with a mix of little plates, drinks and dessert.  

We had:

  • Beets – beet greens / whipped goat cheese / pickled fennel / orange 
  • Baked Camembert – phyllo / apple / olive oil / rosemary / grilled bread
  • Tortallacci – apple bourbon butter / oxtail / pecorino / pickled apples
  • Apple Brown Betty - oat streusel topping / double vanilla ice cream
  • (Another dessert I forgot)
  • A few very well made cocktails

Everything, drinks, food and dessert was very good.  Very different from their sister restaurant, Meat & Potatoes.  Different decor, roomier and a bit more comfy.  We had a table in the back corner of the downstairs…not much for people watching but good for conversations.
