Reinventing Radio: An Evening with Ira Glass

We got to go hear Ira Glass speak at the Hillman Center for a few hours about his history with Public Radio, How This American Life developed stories and how he went from majoring in semiotics at Brown University to cutting tape as an intern at NPR to This American Life.

His show was creative, he started off with the theater in total darkness as if we were just listening to the radio.  He talked about the power of the voice and the story and through the entire talk he, using an iPad, played music and sound clips from his shows.

All in all a very enjoyable performance.
