We got lucky and were able to get tickets while we were in Chicago for the end of Adventure 2026.
The exterior courtyard, garden, park and art are all beautiful. The building is imposing in a good way, the interior walks you through the early lives or President and First Lady Obama and teaches you about how government is intended to work in the United States. One corner of the building is a multi story video wall playing clips of speeches and events that the Obamas attended before and during the presidency. Lots of amazing artifacts to see – one surprise for me was the dress that First Lady Obama wore for her portrait…I did not expect to see that.
The art in the building was a welcome addition and inspiring to say the least. Some time on the top floor to look out of the windows that back the exterior inscription are well worth the time spent.
