So we go to Pinehurst every year for Easter and when we drive we go halfway the night before. That puts us in Beckley, WV where the dinner options are not so good.
This year (2016) we decided to try a Cracker Barrel for dinner, something we’ve not done before but have always heard rave reviews from our brother-in-law Paul. Cracker Barrel is part restaurant, part “store”. The people are super friendly and eager to help out.
Our text conversation with Paul went something like this:
Us: You will never believe where I’m about to have dinner…
Paul: Cheers?
Us: Cracker Barrel in the hills of wv
Paul: Sweet. I get all side dishes
Us: Recommendations ?
Paul: Mac `n cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, tomato/cucumber salad
Us: Nice, I might get the kids grilled cheese
Paul: Ok Make sure to get out before the buses show up
Us: Yeah, there’s like 15 bus spots outside
Us: America!
Paul: Excellent
So, we weren’t hungry after our visit…and we beat the bus arrivals. I’m still confused by the fried apples that were not fried (it was just apple pie filling without the crust – see the bowl in the picture – weird)
