A beautiful neighborhood church in Bruge.
Big city church…with a festival celebrating the start of mussels season. Plus a great St Michael statue!
A beautiful church but the star of the show here is the Ghent Altarpiece, a stunning artwork kept in glass in the church.
Turns out that St Michael is a patron saint of the city of Brussels. He turns up all over the city (even on the garbage cans).
Observation about churches in Belgium…crazy detailed pulpits.
Much more of a simple, “everyday” church. In the back, there was a presepio of sorts, not as much of a nativity but more of a rendering of the town.
If the door is open, go in with respect and look around.
