Cioppino

Finally went for dinner and a Friday night. Overall food was good and the dinner service was great but when it came to the atmosphere Mary Catherine said Las Vegas, I said Disney. The entire place felt like they made what they wanted fit the room, not the other way around.
There was live music at the bar which was good but loud, really loud for the space. The bar itself was standard but the room was huge, high ceilings, huge bar and lots of seating and a bare concrete floor. The floor would have been good in a sports bar but this place is trying to be upscale steak.

The restaurant side was the same. The food was a mixed bag. The Antipasti was average, nothing fancy or unique about it. We both had the filet which was very good, both cooked just right. For desert we split the peach pie which was a small pie, not a piece, that started off good but ended being a little dry. Two glasses of wine and coffee finished off dinner.

The kicker was the price, way to expensive for what you got. Nearly $20 at the bar for a gin and tonic and a Manhattan (which was just OK) then well over $100 for dinner. We’ve had better food in nicer settings for less.

For happy hour with a group or a bigger birthday celebration this might be a place to go but for dinner for two I’d say go elsewhere.
