It’s amazng what war and religon encourages humans to build. The Pentagon is enormous and actually uses ramps in place of stairs as it was built in the 40s and steel was being used elsewhere. Unfortunately the tour is limited – you basically walk the halls for an hour with two tour guides.
The best part of the tour…the Air Force model display.
Second best part of the tour…the guides. If you go, talk to them, ask questions and ask why they do what they do, it’s interesting. Our tour guide (who was in his twenties) served as an honor guard for 800+ funerals at Arlington National Cemetery He also served as honir guard for President Carter’s funeral. Our other tour guide was given the opporutnity to serve as the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for a day. Both very interesting and inspiring stories.
